Mechanical Joint (MJ): This method involves using mechanical joints consisting of a gland, gasket, and bolts/nuts to connect two pipes together. The gland and gasket create a watertight seal, while the bolts and nuts secure the joint.
Push-On Joint: In this method, the spigot end of one pipe is inserted into the socket end of another pipe. A rubber gasket in the socket provides a seal, and no additional materials or tools are required for installation.
Flanged Joint: Flanged joints involve connecting pipes using flanges and bolts/nuts. The flanges are attached to the ends of the pipes, and the bolts/nuts are tightened to compress a gasket between the flange faces, creating a seal.
Restrained Joint: Restrained joints are used in applications where pipes need to resist movement or thrust forces. These joints typically include additional components such as harnesses, rods, or restraints to secure the pipes in place.
